Who am I?
Hi! I'm Frodo45127, and I'm the creator of 'Rusted PackFile Manager', a.k.a. 'RPFM', a modding tool for modern Total War Games.
What's that 'RPFM' thing?
TL;DR: It's a tool for Total War modders that allow them to do what the old 'PackFile Manager' did, with less bugs and some extra features. You can see his source code and download it here.
You want the long version? Then sit down and listen, for what I'm going to tell you is an epic tale of.. Ok, I'll keep it simple. Modern Total War games (since Empire I believe, may be mistaken as I started modding in Shogun 2) have all their files the modders have to.. well, 'mod' inside 'PackFiles' (Like a compressed file, but without compression). To mod one of those games, the modders have at his disposal two tools:
So, after the last maintainer anounced he was going to stop maintaining PackFile Manager I took a look at the code. I know a bit of C# but.. Not enough to properly maintain it and fix all the bugs the tool has been accumulating for all this years. So I decided to use it as an oportunity to learn a new language and, in mid-october of 2017, I started 'RPFM', a reimplementation (also opensource) of 'PFM' in Rust (that's why it's 'Rusted'), using Qt5 for the UI. And thanks to it I learned (and continue learning) a lot.
So, to answer the initial question, 'RPFM' is a reimplementation of 'PFM', the community-developed modding tool modders have been using since Empire to make mods for Total War games.
Why should you care?
What beneficts do this 'RPFM' thing offers me over 'PFM'?
Apart from being actively developed, it has:
For now It offers support for 'Warhammer I & II' and 'Attila', and the current plan is to support new games, and back to 'Rome II'.And if you are still with me after that wall of text, good job. There are not many that read that much lately..
Came across this cool mod for Attila Total War, it doesn't have a Campaign but I'd love to play viva a @Rico Risk style campaign. Which coincidentally there's a map available online.

Seven Kingdoms v1.0 - Public Alpha Release
![Attila Total War Mod Manager Attila Total War Mod Manager](/uploads/1/2/3/7/123709540/192284699.jpg)
Seven Kingdoms: Total War is a complete faction and unit overhaul based on and inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones. The mod strives to accurately recreate and depict all major land forces of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros using equipment, uniforms, and general aesthetics from the series.
Featuring 17 armies within 8 factions led by 19 photorealistic characters from the TV show, the public alpha allows both book and lore enthusiasts to bring the gritty combat of Westeros to life in Attila's multiplayer and custom battle modes. But, this is where the word 'alpha' comes in - we aren't finished by any stretch. George R.R. Martin crafted an entire universe in the books and series, and we plan on continually expanding and improving content over time to fully recreate this universe.
This mod is the culmination of many hundreds of hours of work; we're incredibly thankful to all those who helped make it a reality. If you enjoy playing it, please vote for us in the ModDB Mod of the Year contest!
Thank you all for the support!

Modern Total War games (since Empire I believe, may be mistaken as I started modding in Shogun 2) have all their files the modders have to.. well, 'mod' inside 'PackFiles' (Like a compressed file, but without compression). To mod one of those games, the modders have at his disposal two tools:
- Assembly Kit: It's the official modding kit, made by CA. It allows you to change any table of the game (like editing stats, creating new factions,..), and then export the changes to a 'PackFile' (that's the actual mod). The thing is, outside of table editing, is.. hard to use for anything else.
- PackFile Manager (PFM): It's an opensource tool made by the community to edit the 'PackFiles' directly. It's faaaaaar more flexible in everything but table editing than the Assembly Kit (and many things, like making two different mods compatible, are imposible to do without it), but.. it hasn't aged well. And the last maintainer stopped maintaining it just after 'Total War: Warhammer 2' release.
So, to answer the initial question, 'RPFM' is a reimplementation of 'PFM', the community-developed modding tool modders have been using since Empire to make mods for Total War games.
Why should you care?
- As an user: Do you have two different unit packs you like to use? Without 'PFM' or 'RPFM' it'll be imposible to use both at the same time. The same with a lot of mods made compatible with overhauls.
- As a modder: Are you tired of 'PFM' being slow and buggy, deleting files without permission, having tables with 'Unknown' columns, having uneditable tables..? 'RPFM' aims to help you with that.
What beneficts do this 'RPFM' thing offers me over 'PFM'?
Apart from being actively developed, it has:
- Full Table support (No more unknown columns or impossible to mod tables).
- Better UI (like the meme, it's the same, but different).
- Edition of RigidModel Texture.
- Autopatching for Warhammer Siege Maps.
For now It offers support for 'Warhammer I & II' and 'Attila', and the current plan is to support new games, and back to 'Rome II'.And if you are still with me after that wall of text, good job. There are not many that read that much lately..
- If you want to talk about Endgame then you must use the spoiler tags for the relevant spoilery bits. For those that don't know, the BB Code for spoiler tags is [spoiler]insert spoiler stuff[/spoiler].Failing to do so will not be tolerated.Dismiss Notice

Hello everyone, I presume that at some point of your interest in Total War: Attila you wanted to give it a try using mods. Lately modding community ended up in a full stop. Due to game updates mods did not follow up to this date. Considering this fact, another issue has stumbled upon my eye and this is 'Mitch's Mod Manager' which also is not compatible with versions of the game. For all those who want mods work for their version of the game, incl.( Steam, No Steam, Pirated, etc.) here are some simple steps to follow; So to narrow my solution to this problem here it is: * Go bellow to file section, where you will find yourself downloadable content and its information.

For those having issues getting Attila running on Windows 10, especially with your mods, I've found a few things here and over at TWC that got me back up and running in no time.
You may see an error 'App already running' when trying to run Attila from its shortcut, and it closes itself out. You may also see the Mod Manager button is missing from the Attila launcher, preventing you from starting the game with your mods active. Try the following:
- Open Steam, go to your Library, right-click on Attila and click Properties. Click the Local Files tab, then click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache button.
- Go to your Start Menu, Apps, Steam, right-click on the Steam app icon and use Open File Location. In the window that comes up, right click on the Steam shortcut, go to Properties, then Compatibility tab. Tick the box for 'Run this program in compatibility mode for', then select Windows 7 or 8 from the drop down and hit Apply.
- If you want to run your game in borderless mode, Library, right-click on Attila, Properties, General tab. Design doll 4.0.0.9 cracked download. Then click on Set Launch Options and type -ne and click OK.
- If your launcher's Mod Manager button is missing, head on over to TWC below and grab the Mod Manager Tool:
Download that tool, unzip and run the exe, then select the mods you want to use and hit Launch. You can even set up mod profiles to quickly swap between setups.
These steps got me back running Attila with Radious, Radious Blood, Radious Units, and the two optional AUM Radious Units/Vanilla Units extras mods. Hope this helps some while everyone transitions over to Windows 10.
